Meet Our Team

  • Dr.
    Cathryn Tinsley Youmans,
    DVM, MPH

    Dr. Youmans is a Knoxville native and 2009 graduate of
    University of Tennessee’s College of Veterinary Medicine. She also earned a Master’s Degree in Veterinary Public Health from UT in 2009, giving her special insight the veterinary and human public health field. Dr. Youmans enjoys practicing internal medicine, managing chronic disease, and also has a strong interest in infectious and zoonotic disease. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, traveling, horseback riding, and spending time with friends and family.     Stephen G Skinner
    A 2002 graduate of UT’s College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Skinner is a decorated military veteran, a retired Navy Lt. Commander who graduated #1 in his class at Naval Retail School. He formerly worked at Central Veterinary Hospital and Beaverbrook Animal Hospital. He enjoys spending his free time with his wife, Lisa, and their two dogs Kona and Makai.   • Dr.
    Anna Bennett-Gildner
    Dr. Bennett is a Knoxville native and 2007 graduate of the University of Tennessee, College of Veterinary Medicine. She spent her first years in practice in Dallas, Texas and is glad to return to the hills of Tennessee. Dr. Gildner is an avid equestrian and rides her horse, Little Bit, as often as possible.   • Jeff
    Clinic Manager / Vet Assitant
    Jeff comes to us from the human health field after a change in direction, and is now using his previous clinical and laboratory experience with his new furry patients. Jeff also doubles as our in house computer tech support expert, and spearheaded our recent computer system upgrade. In his off time, he enjoys hanging out with friends and his Husky, Alena.
  • Blake
    Vet Assistant

    Blake is originally from the Nashville area before moving to Knoxville. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science in December 2016. He will be attending Veterinary School at the University of Tennessee in the fall of 2018 and is very excited about joining the Knoxville Animal Clinic team to work and learn alongside great doctors and coworkers. His favorite hobbies include kayaking, hiking, anything sports related (especially Georgia Bulldogs and Nashville Predators), and hanging out with his two pups Clark and Huck.

  • Brooke
    Vet Assistant
    Brooke is originally from Hunstville, AL, but is now a proud Knoxvillian. She has her associate's degree in photography and is now attending the University of Tennessee to fulfill her other dream - forensic anthropology. She has been in the vet field since 2008 and enjoys caring for animals, big and small. She shares her home with her pit/american bull dog mix Canvas, pit bull Ardi, and cat, Moss.
  • Haley
    Vet Assistant

    Haley was born and raised in Knoxville and came from a lifelong love of animals. This love has led her to volunteer at the Humane Society and at the Knoxville Zoo before pursuing a position at KAC. She graduated UT with a degree in animal science.

  • Jenny Warren
    Certified Pet Groomer
    Jenny has been grooming since 2003 and has been with us since December of 2010. She enjoys cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs. Even though she may not be a Tennessee Vols fan, we can forgive her because she a great groomer and co-worker! In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children.
  • Sara
    Originally from New York, Sara has lived in Tennessee since 2004. She enjoys traveling, spending time with her two children and five grandchildren in Arizona. Her favorite pastimes are traveling and gardening.
  • Sarah
    Vet Assistant

    Sarah will be a second-year veterinary student at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in the fall of 2018.  She comes from Florida where she got her bachelor’s degree in biology from the Florida State University but is now loving all Knoxville, TN has to offer!  She loves spending time with her dog Ellie and other animals, hanging out with friends, gardening, and reading. 

  • Vickie
    Vickie has lived in Knoxville for 29 years and is a retired school teacher and church administrator. She has two grown children, two cats, and a golden/collie mix Riley, who is also her jogging companion.
  • John
    Vet Assistant

    John grew up in Nashville before moving down to Knoxville and is now attending the University of Tennessee. He is very excited about joining the Knoxville Animal Clinic team to work and learn alongside some amazing doctors and coworkers. His favorite things are UT Football and playing with his dog Mowgli.

  • Savannah
    Vet Assistant

    Savannah grew up in Cookeville, TN where she stayed until she got her associates and bachelors degrees in biology with a focus in marine biology and zoology. After graduating in May 2017, she moved to Chattanooga where she worked at the Tennessee Aquarium and Chattanooga Zoo. She recently made the move to Knoxville and, although she misses her penguins, she is excited to transition into the veterinary field and hopes to one day specialize in exotic animal care. When she’s not working, you can almost always find her exploring new places or at home with her cat, Shado.

  • Whitney
    Vet Assistant

    Whitney is a Knoxville native who has been working in the veterinary field for over a decade. She's always had a strong bond with animals and has been an avid equestrian for most of her life. She pioneered the Ambulatory Large Animal Veterinary Technician Internship program at UTCVM. She enjoys gardening, hiking, skateboarding, art and alchemy. She has a 4 year old human son named Silas, two dog children named Dante and McKinley, along with her horse, Blue.
